Develop Your Quantum Strategy

Quantum computing is no longer a distant horizon topic for security leaders, it’s an active planning priority. As organizations prepare for a world where today’s encryption may no longer be sufficient, the Advanced Cyber Security Center (ACSC) is closing the year with a focused discussion on what it takes to build a practical quantum strategy.

On December 9, ACSC members will join a special Zoom session featuring Ray Harishankar, IBM Fellow and leader of IBM Quantum Safe. Ray oversees IBM’s quantum-safe engineering programs and works directly with global enterprises to prepare them for the coming Quantum Era.
The session will build on lessons from previous encryption upgrades and review how security and risk leaders can translate high-level urgency into concrete, operational steps to prepare for quantum.
Key questions include:
What should your board know about a quantum strategy?
Do you have a cryptographic inventory and tools to automate discovery and management of cryptographic assets?
Do you understand the value and shelf life of your data—and the risks if it is harvested today and decrypted later?
Are OT and IoT assets included in your quantum transition planning?
What technologies are you assessing as part of a quantum-resilience roadmap?
ACSC members will leave with a check list for organizational readiness, a view of the tooling landscape, and the decision points that matter most over the next 12–24 months.
