Public Policy

Cybersecurity regulations are all over the map. A practice that is legal in one jurisdiction could be a violation in another. In addition, some regulations haven't kept pace with changing technology and are out-of-date.

The ACSC and our Policy Workgroup look for ways to dialogue with local, state, and national legislative bodies to help inform them of fast-paced cybersecurity changes. Our organization works with representatives from state, local, and federal government to provide feedback as laws are shaped and policies reviewed.

"Cyber governance is a thicket of laws and regulations, often in conflict.
The ACSC helps inform officials on flexible guidelines that grow
with the field and improve compliance and safety."
