White House staff calls ACSC the "most impressive" model
January 3, 2013
This Fall, David Luzzi from Northeastern University joined the ACSC executive director to brief White House cyber security staff on the ACSC’s first year of progress. The ACSC representatives met with Michael Daniel, Special Assistant to the President and Cybersecurity Coordinator and Lauren Van Wazer, Assistant Director, Cybersecurity, National Security & International Affairs Division, Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP). As a result of the briefing, last month at a National Academies meeting, Pat Falcone, Associate Director, National Security & International Affairs Division at the White House OSTP singled out the ACSC as the "most impressive" and one of the best models she has seen for bringing together regional entities around the topic of cyber security. The meeting, focused on cybersecurity R&D, was attended by cyber representatives from AFOSR, DARPA, DOD, NSA, and ARO. ACSC leadership continues to forge a relationship with the White House to set a national stage for the ACSC's work and partnerships.
