Boston, MA—January 3, 2018—The Advanced Cyber Security Center, a regional collaborative building a stronger community defense to solve common cyber security problems across Massachusetts and New England, today announced that Lisa Johnson has been appointed Director of Programs and Communications. In her new role, Johnson will focus on events, communications, and community building.

“In 2018, the ACSC is looking to expand beyond its effective security practices and threat sharing roots to more broadly support the public policy and career pathway development challenges faced by our members and the greater New England community,” said Michael Figueroa, Executive Director of the Advanced Cyber Security Center. “Lisa Johnson brings the proven experience in message development, event planning, and community building that will be critical for our ongoing program and research expansion.”

As a leading regional Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (ISAO), the Advanced Cyber Security Center is committed to helping New England organizations establish a new baseline for cyber security excellence through enhanced, objective-driven collaboration. Through ACSC’s threat sharing model, research projects, convenings, publications, and communications, members gain real-time access to actionable intelligence, thought leadership, and expert insights on keeping their organizations on the cutting-edge of cyber security.

“I’m excited to dig into the cyber security community and help bring people together,” said Johnson. “The New England community has already developed effective collaboration and I look forward to helping that expand into new areas, especially healthcare, financial services, and local colleges and universities.”

Johnson brings 10 years of experience to the ACSC, having held a range of positions in program development, content, and marketing. Most recently Johnson handled all marketing program development in healthcare for Everbridge, including helping to educate IT departments about cyber security at hospitals and healthcare systems. Johnson is a graduate of Harvard.
